How to Evaluate an MSC Exosome Supplier: A Checklist
Choosing a supplier of research-grade MSC exosomes is a due-diligence exercise, not a leap of faith. The right questions are answerable with documents. Use this checklist to compare suppliers objectively. It is provided for educational and research purposes only.
1. Sourcing and ethics
Ask where the cells come from. Ethically obtained, donor-consented, and screened Wharton’s jelly MSCs are a clean, well-documented starting point. The source should be transparent, not vague.
2. Manufacturing standards
Look for a cGMP-aligned process and facility registration — described honestly, not misrepresented as FDA approval.
3. Per-lot, third-party COA
Insist on a Certificate of Analysis for every lot, ideally from an independent lab, reporting particle count, size, identity, purity, and sterility.
4. Honest regulatory labeling
A credible supplier labels its products clearly as Research Use Only and avoids disease-treatment claims. Honest labeling is a signal of a trustworthy partner.
5. Storage, handling, and support
Clear storage and cold-chain instructions, responsive support, and traceable documentation round out a dependable supplier.
